Rubber Roofing Services in Gloucester

Rubber roofing, or EPDM, is a single-sheet membrane that goes down with far fewer joints than felt, which is one of the main reasons TB Rooflines fits it on flat roofs, extensions, dormers and garage roofs. It is flexible enough to work into upstands and awkward junctions without the multiple layers and torch-on seams that felt relies on. TB Rooflines measures and cuts each roof to suit the actual shape of the structure rather than a standard kit size.

The process

How It Works

  1. 1

    Site Visit and Measure

TB Rooflines comes out to look at the roof, take measurements and check the deck and any junctions or features that need detailing.

  2. 2

    Strip Out

The old felt or covering is removed and the deck is checked for soft spots or rot before anything new goes down.

  3. 3

    Deck Preparation

Any damaged timber is replaced and the deck is made sound and level so the membrane sits flat.

  4. 4

    Membrane Fitting

The EPDM sheet is laid, bonded and dressed into upstands, edges and any pipes or outlets.

  5. 5

    Finishing and Check Over

Trims are fitted, edges are sealed and the finished roof is checked before the area is cleared and left tidy.

  6. 6

    Aftercare Advice

You're given practical pointers on looking after the EPDM membrane, such as keeping outlets and upstands clear of debris.

FAQ

Common Questions

How long does rubber roofing last compared to felt?

EPDM is a more durable single-sheet material than traditional felt, with far fewer joints where water can get in over time. Exact lifespan depends on installation and how exposed the roof is, so TB Rooflines will talk through what to expect for your specific roof rather than quote a blanket figure.

Can rubber roofing go over an existing felt roof?

It depends on the condition of what's underneath. In most cases the old covering is stripped back to the deck so the new membrane has a sound, flat base, but TB Rooflines will assess this on site.

Do you cover Gloucester as well as Bristol?

Yes. TB Rooflines covers Bristol, Long Ashton, Pill, Bath, Thornbury, Yate, Stoke Gifford, Westbury-on-Trym, Portishead and Keynsham, and also takes on work around Gloucester and Gloucestershire.

How is a rubber roofing job priced?

Pricing is based on the roof size, the condition of the deck, access and how much detailing is needed around edges and features. TB Rooflines will visit or discuss the job with you and give a written quote before any work starts.
