The process

How It Works

  1. 1

    Site Survey

TB Rooflines visits to check the existing roof structure, take measurements and talk through material options before anything is priced.

  2. 2

    Quotation

You get a written quote setting out the work, materials and rough timescale so there are no surprises once the job starts.

  3. 3

    Strip and Prepare

The old covering comes off, the roof timbers are checked over, and any rot or damage is dealt with before new materials go on.

  4. 4

    Install New Roof

New underlay, battens and covering are fitted along with the leadwork and detailing around chimneys, valleys and edges.

  5. 5

    Final Check and Clean-Up

The finished roof is checked over, the site is cleared of debris, and any questions you have are answered before TB Rooflines leaves.

  6. 6

    Aftercare Advice

You're given a few practical pointers on looking after the new roof, such as keeping gutters and valleys clear so rainwater keeps moving away properly.

FAQ

Common Questions

How do I know if I need a new roof or just a repair?

It depends on the age of the roof and how widespread the problem is. If damage is limited to a small area, a repair usually makes more sense. If the underlay has failed, timbers are rotten in several places, or tiles are consistently slipping across the roof, a full replacement tends to be the better long-term option. TB Rooflines will give you an honest view on site rather than push one option over the other.

How long does a new roof take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the roof, and on the weather. A straightforward domestic re-roof is often measured in days rather than weeks, but a larger or more detailed roof with lots of valleys, chimneys or dormers will take longer. You'll get a realistic timescale as part of the quote.

What areas do you cover for new roof installations?

New roof projects are taken on across Bristol, Long Ashton, Pill, Bath, Thornbury, Yate, Stoke Gifford, Westbury-on-Trym, Portishead and Keynsham, as well as Gloucester and Gloucestershire, where the business is registered.

How is a new roof priced?

Pricing is based on what's actually involved: the size and pitch of the roof, the material you choose, access needs, and the state of the timbers underneath. You'll get a written quote after a site visit rather than a price over the phone.
